Women of the Island
Empowering, inspiring and building relationships
Women of the Island is a collective of bold, visionary women entrepreneurs on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Founded by Angel Bennett, Tara McMeans, and Josie Taylor, the group exists to celebrate, support, and amplify the voices of women breaking barriers in their industries.
As a collective, Women of the Island thrives on collaboration over competition. Members pool their talents, resources, and visibility to lift one another up, creating a ripple effect of empowerment across the community. At their yearly International Women's Day event, they spotlight women-owned businesses, share stories of resilience and success, and inspire the next generation of leaders to step forward with confidence.
At its heart, Women of the Island is more than a network — it’s a movement. A movement rooted in community, creativity, and the belief that when women come together, they don’t just succeed; they shatter glass ceilings.
